the f*ckin’ lecturer

today is a bad class day!
this lecturer was supposed to be teaching about the values of my country’s ideology. but as it seems to me, she’s just preaching and not practicing. it’s all bullsh*t
here’s the conversation:
a month ago:
me: excuse me, i’d like to have a copy of your lecture materials please.
her: oh, i’m really sorry, you’re barely missed it. i already disconnected my flashdisk. how about next week?
me: oh, that’s okay. thank you very much
her: you’re welcome
this same conversation happened in the two weeks that followed. then i started to think, is she really into this or not? then earlier today:
me: excuse me, i hope i’m not too late to get my copy of your lecture materials
her: look mr., i don’t know what you’re trying to do here, but you’ve been pushing me these last few weeks. i thought i said no, and yet you keep on asking me. what is it with you anyway?
me: i’m sorry, but as i recall, you did not say anything about me not permitted to have a copy of your materials.
her: oh really? well it just so happens that none of my other classes receive any copies of my notes except those in print. so i guess it wouldn’t be fair if i gave you a copy of the file.
me: oh, pardon me then, but if you had said this weeks ago then we would not have had this conversation.
her: when this class was first held, i said to the whole class that i will not be giving file copies. is that clear. now what would you do if i did my presentation on an overhead projector.
me: …
her: okay then, problem solved?
me: very well, excuse me.
i don’t know what is it with her anyway. from my point of view it shouldn’t take long for her to copy her lecture notes into the school’s laptop, and then she could just take off and i’ll do the rest of the work. but then again, as my esteemed colleagues from the department of electrical engineering pointed out, this matter is a big deal for lecturers from the philosophy department. you see, as the rest of the world would use electronic files and mass storage devices to transport those files, these lecturers would use paper and pencil to pass on any message of any size. this happens in relatively good circumstances. in a bad situation, they might use papyrus, the leaf, to jot down notes and pass it on to peers. this seems to take a whole lot of time and so people tend try not to pass on any information at all.
poor lecturers… if only we can educate them of all the good things about modern technology. but then again, this might contaminate their ultra-conservative and "closed-user-group" way of thinking. you see, if any non-essential or otherwise illegal information ever got to them and eventually opened up their way of thinking, this whole damn country would become a totally better country. but we don’t want that to happen, now, would we?
those philosophic smart-@ss lecturers don’t have a clue on how this world runs. they only rely on idiotic theories and assume everything runs according to those theories. and they close their eyes on things that they don’t want to see. what a pity. and these people teach first-year students? and they are supposed to set an example of how people should behave in this country as defined by the country’s ideology? what a real waste! what a catastrophe!
